The Raatteen Marathon will be run on Saturday, August 16, 2025, along the legendary Raatteen road, known for the battles of the Winter War, from the border zone to the center of Suomussalmi! The historical marathon route features several battle sites and memorials from the Winter War. The purpose of the event is to honor the veteran generation that fought for an independent Finland in the battles along Raatteen road and to preserve the history of Raatteen road. The Raatteen Marathon offers a wide range of race options as well as diverse activities before and after the event.
